SPADE, the Small Phased Array DEmonstrator is a 8-antennas phased array devoted to the monitoring of solar activity in the band 80 - 20 MHz. It is located on the Humain station next to the 6-m solar telescope.
The steering of the array is fully digital and is made at the receiver level (Software Defined Radio receivers).
The first solar observations were obtained during the summer 2024. The instrument has been since then observing the Sun routinely. Quicklook data will soon be available. The spectra below show a group of type III bursts on September 06 2024.
The SPADE antennas and amplifiers come from the NenuFAR project. SPADE has been financed by the BRAIN-BE Pioneer program (Grant BR/314/PI/SPADE) and co-funded by the STCE
