Geomagnetic conditions reached moderate storm conditions (NOAA Kp 6-) observed
between 18:00 and 21:00 UTC August 08. Local conditions (K bel) reached active levels
at this time. This was due to the ongoing ICME passage from the CME which arrived on
August 08. Bz was mostly negative between 16:00 UTC August 08 and 00:00 UTC August 09
with a minimum value of -17 nT. The magnetic field strength was stable around 17nT.
The solar wind speed ranged between 330 and 380 km/s. Further periods of minor to
moderate storm conditions may be m=possible over the next hours in response to any
extended periods of negative Bz.
